A long and colorful history…
Partaneshof – steeped in tradition
We are justifiably proud to be the present-day stewards of this historic place, to honor our roots and keep centuries old traditions alive:
Partaneshof in Merano is one of the oldest family-owned farms in our region. The earliest notary record dates back to the 16th century, showing the owner to be Antoni Partanes. In that age the farm was called “Uterm Berg” (Beneath the Mountain). Antoni Partanes was also Mayor of Merano from 1560 – 1594.
Over the centuries, the farm took on the family name, Partanes. In 1821, Maria von Partanes married Sebastian Ladurner and since that time the land has carried the Ladurner name. In all, Partaneshof has been in our family’s possession for over 14 generations.Â
The vineyards have traditionally been the major source of income but dairy farming also came to play a role, along with fruit orchards. Â And even though we’ve added a four star bed and breakfast, we continue our organic wine and fruit production in accordance with family tradition.Â
We are very gladly available to you for possible questions!
